The West Midlands has taken the top spot for the fastest-growing rents in the UK, according to a new report prepared by Your Move.
Rents in the region grew by four per cent to £641 per calendar month (pcm) during the 12 months to the end of April 2019.
The most expensive region for rents remains London, with an average rental figure of £1,262 pcm. However, during this period rents in the capital fell on average by around 1.1 per cent.
When it came to yields from rental properties in England and Wales, year-on-year figures remained flat on average at 4.3 per cent during April.
Northern England continues to offer the highest yields, with the North East reporting the healthiest returns of around five per cent, while the North West wasn’t far behind with a figure of 4.8 per cent.
London in comparison only enjoyed yields of 3.2 per cent on average, while both the South East and South West came in at 3.3 per cent.
